Laura Lemke Laura is a serious landscape photographer who uses the camera as a creative tool for enriching our local appreciation of those last places of natural beauty before they disappear beneath the assault of urban sprawl and commercial over-development. She believes that the physical place where we spend most of our lives -- that rich diverse landscape of meadows, wetlands, lakes, rivers, and forests-- help define our cultural history and aesthetic identity. Her photographic choices are not inspired for commercial profit, and her images are not manipulated on the computer. The vibrant colors are a result of composing in the best light and the use of professional slide film. She develops a strong attachment to places she photographs, returning often, sometimes year after year during different seasons, in order to maximize the best perspective and lighting conditions. |
